In Norse mythology, Geri and Freki are a pair of wolves, companions of the god Odin. Freki translates to "Ravenous" and Geri translates to "Greed".

Snorri Sturluson in Gylfaginning indicates that it is to these wolves that Odin gives his food when in Valhöll, for he has no need of it himself, subsisting solely on wine.
